Commercial Solar O&M

Solar Maintenance and Commercial O&M Contracts in San Diego

Your system is producing data. Is it producing the power it promised? RCH Renewables provides commercial solar maintenance and O&M contracts for retail chains and commercial properties across California. We self-perform all field work under our C-10 electrical license.

The problem

Most commercial solar systems underperform. Most owners don't know it.

A degraded string. A failed inverter. A monitoring dashboard showing green while production quietly drops. Most commercial O&M contracts are reviewed only when a bill looks wrong, and by then, the loss has already happened.

The harder problem: most contractors who installed your system are not set up to service it. They're sales organizations. The crew that did your install has moved on. When something fails, you're calling a call center.

SunPower filed for bankruptcy in August 2024. Thousands of commercial systems in Southern California lost their O&M provider overnight. We service SunPower-installed systems, regardless of who did the original install.

Who we are

What does commercial solar O&M include?

RCH Renewables is a C-10 licensed electrical contractor based in Fallbrook. We handle commercial solar O&M, scheduled maintenance, inverter repair, and performance monitoring for commercial properties across California, from Clovis south and Calexico west. Our O&M clients include a national grocery chain operating multiple locations, Neighborhood Health Group across 9 of their sites, and a nationwide EPC that trusts us with project variety ranging from panel removal and reinstallation, inverter swaps, and corrective maintenance on systems up to 717kW in the Redwoods. They went through formal vendor qualification processes. We passed.

We self-perform.

Every technician who shows up is an RCH employee working under our C-10 license, not a subcontractor routed through a dispatch system. You know who is coming. We know your system.

We report what matters.

Monthly KPI reports include uptime percentage, performance ratio (PR), and open tickets by priority. Not just kWh, the metrics your facilities team can actually use in a corporate sustainability update.

We respond.

Critical fault response within one day pending availability. Standard service within 3-5 business days. Landon Raster manages our commercial accounts. You get a named contact, not a call center.

What's included

What Our O&M Contracts Cover

Scheduled Preventive Maintenance

Annual or semi-annual site visits. Panel cleaning, torque checks, electrical connection inspection, combiner box review, and performance baseline comparison. Scheduled around your operating hours.

Inverter Monitoring and Repair

String-level and inverter-level monitoring with active fault alerts. Inverter repair and replacement handled under your O&M contract. We stock common parts and keep response times tight.

Performance Analysis

Monthly production review against modeled output. If your system is underperforming, we find out why: IV curve tracing, thermography, shade analysis, documented root cause.

SunPower System Service

We service SunPower-installed commercial systems regardless of original installer. SunPower filed for bankruptcy in August 2024. If your O&M provider disappeared, we can step in.

Interconnection and Utility Coordination

When repairs require utility coordination with SDG&E, we handle it. We know the interconnection process and the local AHJ contacts.

Monthly KPI Reporting

Uptime %, performance ratio (PR), and open tickets by priority. Formatted for corporate sustainability updates. Not just kWh totals.

Credentials

National chains have formal vendor qualification processes. We've passed them.

Commercial O&M clients evaluate contractors the same way they evaluate any critical vendor: references, insurance, license verification, response time SLAs, and technical competency.

Existing systems

Already have a commercial system? We can take over your O&M.

If your current O&M provider has gone quiet, or your system has never had a formal maintenance contract, we start with a paid site assessment: full system inspection, performance review against original design, and a written findings report.

From there, you get a contract with documented SLAs, a named account manager, and monthly KPI reports. No sales handoffs. The person who does your assessment is the person who manages your account.

Site Assessment

$175 truck roll + $200/hr per tech, two-tech minimum (2-hour minimum). Includes documenting all equipment types, verifying system operation status, conferring with manufacturers on recommended maintenance procedures, and delivering a written preventive maintenance plan.

Assessment cost is credited toward any O&M contract signed within 30 days.

For facilities teams

What to ask any commercial solar O&M contractor

Before signing an O&M agreement with any provider, facilities teams should ask these five questions. We answer all of them. Ask us directly.

1

Do you self-perform field work, or subcontract?

2

Can I own my raw monitoring data if I switch providers?

3

What is your average response time for an inverter failure?

4

Who is my single point of contact, and what happens if they leave?

5

Can you provide a reference from a commercial client in my industry?
