Water intrusion through incorrect fittings led to an electrical short and fire inside the enclosure. Discovered during a full component-level inspection.

Escondido runs hotter than the coast. Your equipment feels it.
Escondido sits inland, and its summer ambient temperatures run hotter than coastal North County. That pushes inverters and combiner boxes harder than the same equipment gets pushed at a coastal site. Inverters derate in high heat, and hot enclosures age electrical components faster. An inland system that skips inspections is not the same risk as a coastal one that skips inspections.

Physical site walks
Mounting structures, wiring runs, junction boxes, and combiners get looked at by a licensed technician. Dashboards report output. They report nothing about physical condition.
