North County contractors, not a Miramar call center

We do the full stack in Poway. Solar, battery, SPAN, and EV.

Most solar companies can sell you panels. Fewer can also wire a SPAN Panel, pull the permit for a Tesla Powerwall 3, and install a Wall Connector on the same project under a single C-10 license. That is what we do.

We are based in Fallbrook, 25 minutes from Poway. Ian Crilly and Landon Raster are on every job. You meet us at the quote and the same crew shows up to do the work. No subcontractors. No project managers you will never meet.

C-10 License #1108682. Verify at the CSLB website. It covers electrical, panels, solar, and battery under one license.

What we do here

What we install for Poway homeowners

Solar installation

Poway's inland location means full sun exposure without coastal marine layer. We size systems to 12 months of SDG&E bills. Hot summer temps reduce peak efficiency slightly, and we spec for it. A 6.6kW system here produces roughly 9,000 kWh per year.

Solar installation details

Battery backup and SPAN Panel

Tesla Powerwall 3 paired with SPAN Panel is the Poway stack. Powerwall stores solar for evening discharge. SPAN controls which loads pull from battery during SDG&E peak hours. Standalone Powerwall from $13,729 installed. SPAN Panel from $6,500 installed. Bundle solar + battery from $23,724.

Financing from $123/mo via GoGreen Home. Subject to credit approval.

Battery and SPAN Panel details

EV charger installation

Tesla Certified. We pull the San Diego County permit, verify panel capacity, and install cleanly. If you are adding solar and a Wall Connector, one crew handles both. No handoffs between contractors.

Electrical panels

Poway homes from the 1970s-1990s often have 100-150 amp panels. SPAN Panel replaces your main panel and adds circuit-level smart control. If you want a standard upgrade instead, we do 200-amp service upgrades and subpanel installs for garages and ADUs.

The Poway peak-rate problem

Poway summers hit 95-100°F exactly when SDG&E rates peak

Poway sits inland. Marine layer does not reach here the way it does in Encinitas or Carlsbad. When a summer heat wave pushes inland temps above 95°F, your AC runs hard from 2pm onward. That is exactly when SDG&E’s peak rate kicks in at 4pm, reaching $0.66/kWh through 9pm. Those five hours are where most of the summer bill gets made.

SPAN Panel adds smart load control at the circuit level. During the 4-9pm window, SPAN automatically routes lower-priority loads, such as the pool pump, EV charger, and secondary HVAC zones, to battery power while keeping essentials on solar or grid. You set the rules once. SPAN enforces them every day.

Tesla Powerwall 3 pairs with SPAN Panel for unified monitoring in one app. See energy flowing in real time, set peak-avoidance rules, and track battery state of charge. Most contractors can install a solar system and a Wall Connector. Few can wire a SPAN Panel correctly. RCH holds the C-10 license that covers the solar, the panel upgrade, and the battery under one permit.

Eastern Poway has additional exposure during Santa Ana wind events. SDG&E runs PSPS shutoffs across inland North County before coastal ZIPs are touched. A Powerwall 3 provides 13.5 kWh of backup regardless of the reason for the outage. Two units stacked give you 27 kWh, enough for 12-18 hours of essential loads in most Poway homes.

Poway inland heat

Summers regularly hit 95-100°F. AC loads spike. Without battery and load control, every kWh runs at peak SDG&E rates.

SDG&E 4-9pm peak window

$0.66/kWh through 9pm in summer. That five-hour window accounts for a large share of the monthly bill for Poway homes with central AC.

SPAN smart load management

Automatically routes low-priority loads to battery during peak hours. Pool pump, EV charger, and secondary zones shift to stored solar. Essentials stay on.

PSPS exposure in eastern Poway

Eastern Poway is in SDG&E's wildfire PSPS risk area. Battery backup works regardless of what caused the outage.

The numbers

Does solar make sense in Poway right now?

Yes. Here is the Poway case without the federal tax credit, which expired December 31, 2025.

SDG&E raised rates 11.6% in January 2026 alone, and another increase is in regulatory review. The cost of not going solar does not stay flat. It increases every year you wait.

Poway’s inland location works in your favor on production. No marine layer, more clear-sky days, and higher peak sun hours than coastal North County. A 6.6kW system here produces around 9,000 kWh per year. Pair that with SPAN load management and a Powerwall, and you keep your consumption out of the peak-rate window. That is where the economics improve the most.

Poway Solar Economics, 2026

SDG&E rate (Jan 2026)45.7¢/kWh
Average system size6.6 kW
Annual production estimate~9,000 kWh/yr (inland sun hours)
Annual bill offset at current rates~$2,600
Estimated payback (no ITC)7–8 years
Financing from~$90/mo (4kW via GoGreen)

C-10 license #1108682

Look it up on the CSLB website. A full electrical contractor license covering panels, batteries, EV chargers, and solar. Not a solar-only C-46.

SPAN Authorized Installer

One of the few contractors in North County authorized to install and configure SPAN smart panels. We know the integration with Powerwall and solar.

Tesla Certified installer

Certified for Powerwall and Wall Connector installation. We know the interconnection process, the SDG&E paperwork, and the permit requirements.

No subcontractors

The crew doing your work is licensed under our C-10. Not a subcontract hand-off to an unlicensed team we have never worked with.

Common questions

Questions from Poway homeowners

How does SPAN Panel reduce my SDG&E peak charges?

SPAN is a smart main electrical panel that controls individual circuits. You define which loads are high priority (fridge, medical equipment) and which can shift (pool pump, EV charger, secondary HVAC). During SDG&E's 4-9pm peak window, SPAN automatically pauses low-priority loads and draws from your Powerwall instead of the grid. When the battery is low, it resumes grid power only for priority loads. The result: less energy pulled from SDG&E during the most expensive hours of the day.

Can Powerwall and SPAN be controlled from the same app?

The SPAN app controls your panel and shows circuit-level data. Tesla's app manages the Powerwall. They are separate apps currently, though SPAN and Tesla have integrations that allow both to respond to the same peak-avoidance rules. We configure the integration at install so they work together out of the box.

How do I size solar and battery for Poway's summer cooling loads?

We pull 12 months of your SDG&E usage data. Summer months in Poway often show 1,200-1,600 kWh because of AC. A 8-10kW solar system paired with one or two Powerwalls typically covers an average Poway home including AC, with battery providing peak-hour discharge. We run the production model before recommending a system.

Is eastern Poway affected by PSPS outages?

Yes. Eastern Poway near the wildfire interface zone is in SDG&E's PSPS risk area. A Powerwall 3 holds 13.5 kWh. Two units stacked give you 27 kWh, enough for 12-18 hours of essentials for most homes. We design for your actual load, not a generic estimate.
